Belleville woman charged with impaired driving following collision

On February 1, 2018 at approximately 6:00pm officers responded to a reported collision on Shannonville Road north of Highway 401 in Tyendinaga Township. There were two vehicles involved, with fortunately no injuries to report.

Police arrived on scene and quickly determined that the driver at fault was showing signs of impairment. Offices issued a demand to conduct a test roadside and the driver failed. The driver was arrested at the scene for Impaired Care and Control.

The driver was brought to Napanee Detachment where she provided breath samples. The driver blew over 80.

Marlene Gray, a 53 year old female from the Belleville area, was charged with Impaired Care and Control and having more than 80mg of Alcohol in her system per 100ml of blood.

The accused had her licence suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for 7 days. Gray was released on a Promise to Appear with a first appearance date of February 20, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee.
