Expected Kingston region road closures and delays for Mon Jan 29th to Sun Feb 4th

A summary of expected road closures in Kingston and area as made available by the MTO, City of Kingston and surrounding municipalities for the week of Monday, January 29th to Sunday, February 4th:

The 401 eastbound at Gardiners Rd will have the right lane closed intermittently between January 29th and February 2nd for an engineering investigation.

Princess Street will remain closed between Clergy and Barrie streets as the street is reconstructed from building-front-to-building-front. Intersections will remain open. Construction will then move up Princess Street toward Division Street. Businesses remain open, though pedestrians will need to detour through construction zones on Princess Street from Clergy to Division, and Barrie Street from Queen to Brock. Reopening of Princess Street to through traffic is expected to occur on Canada Day, July 1.

King Street will be closed from The Tragically Hip Way to Place d’Armes on Feb. 1 from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. to accommodate the Carr-Harris Cup.

Market Street will be closed from King to Ontario from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2 for Febfest activities.

Expect continued delays on Front Road between Days Road and Sand Bay Lane, as it will be reduced to one lane eastbound and motorists should expect delays until the end of February to accommodate Utilities Kingston site-servicing work. Delays will continue on Front Road between INVISTA’s east entrance and Trailhead Place until May to allow crews to finalize bridge work.

Taylor Kidd Boulevard from Bayridge to Old Colony until the end of May to allow for watermain construction by Utilities Kingston.
