On January 24th at approximately 4:30 p.m., members of the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 401 east of the Joyceville Road exit.
Preliminary investigation has indicated that the vehicle, a black Nissan Maxima, was travelling eastbound on Highway 401 and left the roadway on the south side.
The 72 year old male driver, now identified as Victor Brennan of Lansdowne, was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.
Highway 401 eastbound was closed at the Joyceville Road exit and the Ontario Provincial Police Technical Collision Investigator assisted with the investigation. The roadway was re-opened at around 10 p.m.
