Impaired driver causes collision

Officers with the Napanee Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a 911 call on January 30, 2018 from a Good Samaritan at around 11:20 a.m. trying to assist a driver on Highway 41 who had driven her vehicle into the ditch. The caller informed police the driver may be impaired.

The driver left the scene and was met by officers at a residence. The female was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and transported to Napanee Detachment to provide breath samples.The driver refused to complete the breath tests.

Julia Webster, a 29 year old female from Kingston, is charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Refusing to Provide a Breath Sample. Webster’s licence was suspended for a period of 90 days.

Webster was later released on a Promise to Appear with a first appearance date of February 23rd at the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee.
