Kingston Police stop vehicle riding on rim

A Kingston Police officer prevented a possible tragedy when he stopped a vehicle riding on its wheel rim through Kingston city streets on Monday, January 23rd.

The vehicle was pulled over by the traffic officer when it was observed driving unusually slowly and riding quite low to the ground on Bath Rd near the Bayridge underpass at around 11:30 a.m.

On inspection, the tire rubber was found to have completely worn away and the bare metal from the rim was grinding against the roadway. On further investigation, the vehicle’s permit was also found to be expired. The driver of the vehicle was given a $110 fine for the expired validation sticker and the vehicle was towed.
