Man charged with possession for purpose of trafficking $200,000 in drugs

A 20-year-old local man has been arrested for drug trafficking as a result of an investigation by the Kingston Police Drug Unit that began in November 2017.

On February 6, 2018 officers from the Drug Unit executed four search warrants within the city including the accused residence. During a search of the residence officers found large quantities of illicit drugs, drug paraphernalia and Canadian currency.

The accused was charged with five counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana for a total street value of the drugs to be in excess of $200 000.

The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.
