Man revving engine arrested and facing multiple charges

A 28-year-old Wolfe Island man is facing multiple charges after revving his engine brought the attention of police.

On January 27, 2018 at approximately 7:45 p.m. police responded to the area of Elm St and Chatham Street for a report of a possible impaired driver revving the engine of a silver car. Officers located the accused sitting in the driver seat of an apparently disabled vehicle while revving the engine. The vehicle had no licence plates, however officers found plates on the front passenger floor that were registered as stolen. Officers also found open alcohol in the vehicle and made observations the man had been drinking.

The male was arrested when officers determined he was in breach of his probation conditions not to consume or possess alcohol. During the arrest, the accused attempted to kick one officer. As officers placed him in the cruiser he continued to resist and attempted to kick the doors.

The male was transported to police headquarters and during the booking process he remained uncooperative and spit in the face of an officer. He was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The male has been charged with possession of stolen property, resisting police, and two counts of breaching probation.
