OPP identify pedestrian killed on 401

On April 13th at approximately 1 a.m., officers from the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a pedestrian being struck on Highway 401 westbound just west of Gardiners Road in Kingston.

When officers arrived on scene it was confirmed that the injuries the male sustained were consistent with being struck by a vehicle. No vehicles remained on scene.

The male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The deceased male has been identified by OPP as 59-year-old Charles Thistlethwaite of Kingston.

It is believed that at approximately 12:30 a.m. on April 13th, Thistlethwaite was observed walking westbound on the paved shoulder of the westbound lane of the 401, about one kilometer west of Gardiners Road.
